I’ve been a huge fan of Pai since spying it on Kate’s blog and getting to chat to the team last year at an event, and since introducing their products into my routine my skin has looked and felt so much better.
Pai is one of the UK’s leading organic skincare brands that produces 100% cruelty-free and vegan friendly products, which are all made in London and have been certified by Soil Association, Leaping Bunny, and Vegan Society, as well as having recyclably packaging, a social responsibility program for young female entrepeneurs, and are part of the Forest Stewardship Council to minimise environmental impact – a pretty fab company all round!
I’ve been a huge fan of their Camellia and Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, Rosehip Oil, and Copaiba Deep Cleanse AHA Mask for a while now, even going on to repurchase them when finished (a true rarity), but Pai sent me a few new items to try after explaining my current skin needs to them to see how products could help rebalance, and so far it’s been skincare heaven!
I was recommended mainly the Perfect Balance range as it’s aimed at Combination and Blemish-Prone Skin – I have dry areas, oily T-zone, and spots around my chin and cheeks. I have only been trying these for a few weeks so this won’t be as in-depth a review as usual, but I have noted some changes and results already that are already worth sharing:
Copaiba and Zinc Perfect Balance Blemish Serum* – Zinc is fantatsic at taking down spots and inflammation, and Copaiba is also anti-bacterial which stops the cycle of persistent blemishes. The serum is said to reduce sebum by 65%, and since using it along my jawline up to my cheekbones, I’ve noticed a lot of spot in and around my hairline clear up quickly, and spots trapped under the surface come out and clear up fast. Obviously it’s not great to have spots, but having them come up and out is better than painful lumps sitting around for months! It’s lightweight, oil-free, and smells very refreshing which is exactly what you need when trying to calm the skin; as soon as my other serum finishes up, I’ll be liberally applying this all over my skin!
Rice Plant and Rosemary BioAffinity Tonic* – This toner is so fresh and calming I could happily spray it all day long! The tonic is made up of rich minerals and nutrients from Rice plants that create the ‘Living Waters’, bursting with vitamins and amino acids that match the pH of skin and rebalance the skin post-cleanse. Although marketed as a toner, I use this on top of serum or at the end of cleansing to seal everything in, and the extra layer of moisture on top takes time to sink in and allow the skin to drink it up, keeping my face hydrated for longer and also super glowy! The Rosemary helps balance and calm, and that zing of fresh herb really awakens you first thing.
Geranium and Thistle Rebalancing Day Cream* – I’d been looking for a day cream to replace my Caudalie moisturiser, and this is a lovely lovely alternative. A cream should seal everything in and hydrate the skin, which this does beautifully – it’s hydrating enough to keep my skin looking alive and feeling bouncy all day without being too greasy, it’s non-comedogenic which means it won’t cause spots or clogged pores, and the fatty acids in Thistle help calm the skin gently. I really like the formula, it’s spot on for what I need to stay smooth and hydrated through the day which I can see and feel mostly in my cheeks where the pores look tighter (makeup on or off), and it smells goregous too, which is a bonus 😉
Hopefully this has been a good enough into to Pai that you get adding a product or two to your basket, lord knows I’m super-sizing my next Camellia and Rose cleanser – clear happy skin here I come!
P.S. I have just had an email from Pai stating that today (July 10th) 20% of every sale will go to Mind Mental Health Charity, in support of a friend of the company who sadly ended their life due to mental health issues. If you do see something in this post you fancy trying, please do purchase today and support mental health.
