On the back of my recent cruelty-free/vegan skincare post, I wanted to share a few new makeup finds that have (for some) quickly become staples in my beauty drawer. Whilst I may have been able to declutter skincare easily, I still have five too many lipsticks; I can’t help it, I want them all, yet end up wearing the same two. Total lipstick problems.

A lot of these beauties follow a terracotta, tanned vibe – it’s all quite nuetral yet warm and orange and it makes me look slightly more bronzed like an Olsen twin circa 2005, which I think we all dug back then and to this day. So strap yourself in, and get ready for some real do-good makeup…

I’m always on the hunt for a light base that protects from the sun yet has some coverage, and I’ve found the perfect balance in the Pür CC Cream; I’m currently using Light yet am starting to seriously need Medium as I’m needing that warmth, however the coverage combined with the suncream blends out amazingly well to give you a flawless base with protection. Again, the product is cruelty-free and vegan friendly so there are no nasties to be found, and it’s just a good-all rounder for, well, all-year round. I cannot live without it now and wear it every day!

Now I like a lot of people was overjoyed when Smashbox fully confirmed their cruelty-free recently, and now I get to enjoy all the lipsticks I had stashed away!! I’ve started breaking into a few of their matte shades, but my go-to right now is Honey, a very nice easy neutral beige-pink with a hint of sheen that you can apply and know it will rock with any look – lots of liner, smokey eye, bare lids, you name it it’ll suit it! The formula is great although a pricey option, but great if you’re looking for a wide range of colours with cruelty-free incentives.

If you’re more easy and slick a bit of colour for ease kinda gal, this Inika Tinted Lip Tint in Cosmic is spot on; I like to apply a small amount on my lips and then smoosh it with my ring finger for a very soft and bitten vibe, it’s honestly the best. The tint itself is halal, vegan, cruelty-free, and organic, so you can guarantee that nothing artificial or harmful is entering your system, or putting your pout off point 😉

Another new love from Inika is their Baked Mineral Bronzer, which is a gorgeous light orange-brown I apply as a blush/blender for my darker contour. It is baked on terracotta in Italy, so you know it’s fancy, but like the lip balm it’s cruelty-free, vegan, and organic, and has a lovely blendable texture. Whether you swirl, pat, or sweep it on, the colour isn’t too saturated you go overboard but gives you a lovely muted glow – perfect for light to medium skintones, and a nice blush on darker tones! Inika is a fab natural brand, and did you know, Emma Watson is a huggeeee fan, just saying….

Finally, my now all-time fave palette – Too Faced Natural Matte Palette, the perfect mix of browns, pinks, and neutrals that are perfect for every occasion and for travel! I’m slowly hitting pan on Honey Butter, it’s a fab orange which honestly I didn’t think would suit me but it gives me this subtle depth/slight tan to my skin, and I’ve literally worn this every day since I got it. I loev it that much. I also use Strapless in the crease, Chocolate Cookie under my eyes for smoke, and Sexpresso for both liner and to fill the arches of my brows – see, told you it was multi-purpose, and vegan and cruelty free! Score! 😉

The colour pigmentation is strong but so easy to blend, you cannot go wrong with this basic staple! I’m already sad thinking about the day I hit pan…

Before I leave I wanted to also note two very exciting things – firstly, my photography workshops are now LIVE! I’m hosting the first one June 10th, tickets and details linked here so I hope you can come along. Secondly, I’ve been shortlisted as Photography Blogger of the Year in the Blogosphere Blog Awards, which I’m so over the moon about. It’s a true honour and there are some fab contenders, but I really think I have a shot *fingers crossed* it means a lot for my work to get recognised, both on my blog and with other bloggers, so if you so enjoy it, please pop a lil’vote right here!

Super happy and made up (pun intended) Lauren out 😉
