The simplest skincare routine I’ve ever had…

Well it’s been a while hasn’t it – after a week off to chill and regroup for the upcoming season, I’ve felt my jazz come back in full swing and man it feels good! There’s so many ideas running around my head but it all feels relaxed and back to basics almost, so I hope you’re as excited as I am to share.

But I digress, because I’ve made a skincare revelation: less really is more.

After years of 5+ products on my face morning and night, I’ve slipped into something a little simpler and my time management is loving it. In under 5 minutes I can get my teeth brushed, face washed and body clean, which does make getting out of bed easier and at my desk quicker 😉

In the mornings I’ve stuck with the ever trusty Oskia Renaissance Cleanser, the gel texture working enough to clean and clarify after a long sleep – it doesn’t leave your skin too ‘clean’ feeling, but refreshed enough to restore balance. Then I’ve been taking a few shakes of Pixi Glow Tonic on a cotton pad (these Boots ones are the softest ever) to soften and clear my chin and cheeks – so far they’re the softest and clearest ever, so much more manageable! Eyes are most telling of my sleepiness, and found The Body Shop Drops of Youth Eye Gel* works really well at 1) waking me up and 2) refreshing and toning any puffiness under the eyes – it gets very addictive rolling it under my eyes, almost therapeutic. Finally I work in Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis Morning Facial as a luxurious 2-in-1 serum/oil, it smells heavenly and is surprisingly light yet sinks in deep to nourish and bring life to the skin. Perfect when running out to catch a train!

The evenings are even quicker – on an average no-makeup day, I take the day off with 1-2 pumps of Pai Rose and Camellia Gentle Cleanser* and this works beautifully as a second makeup cleanse too due to the high quantity of oils within the cleanser. It breaks down makeup, grime whilst adding hydration, care and softness to the skin (plus it smells pretty incred too) and is vegan friendly! I then use REN Firm and Lift Eye Cream* to keep my eyes protected and firm even in sleep; again it’s very light and you only need the tiniest amount to spread under and around the eye area plus my eyes have felt so soft since using! To top it all off, I take 3-4 drops of Sunday Riley Luna Oil to add nourishment whilst the retinol clears and calms any blemishes or redness. I’ve noticed since using this as my main ‘topical’ product my skin has healed and calmed quicker, making the price tag so worth it!

Now that I’m spending less time on my skincare, I guess that means more time in bed, amiright? 😉

Lots of Love,
Lauren x
