Something I’ve found to keep my skin clear, bright and smooth is very regular exfoliation – even with weeks I have all the bumps and spots in the world screaming at lactic acid, it really does the job at buffing them away and preventing scars.

Since switching to chemical exfoliators, my skin is more evenly treated and if anything less sensitive to treatment which is a huge bonus! Many skincare reps have told me again and again how exfoliation is key and if you’re not doing it, the rest of your routine is pointless as the products can’t penetrate as far down into the skin, and I’ve tried out my fair few brandsso get ready to get your exfoliation game on…

Firstly is one I’ve had for years – it’s honestly lasted long and I use it all the time – REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask, which looks a bit like marmalade jam but doesn’t taste like it so don’t try it; it is super gooey-gel like and leaves you looking odly dewy/wet/gloopy, however 15 minutes later it’ll have sunk in and started to take off those top few layers, removing dead skin cells, scab, pigmentation and more to reveal a more even skin tone and a seriously bright complexion! It really is one of my faves, and REN are currently running a lil’halloween promo where you can get 30% off any mask, so if you want to give this (or another from the range) a go then get snapping it up as it ends 31st October!

Now I love a good beauty box to try new products and the recent Look Fantastic Pamper Me Box was fab-u-lous; it’s like the know I love pampering 😉 With two exfoliating masks included, it was good to see how they compared to ones I already owned – Oskia’s Renissance Mask is one I’ve heard a lot about, and was pleasantly surprised with it’s creamy texture; still gel like but once applied it thickened and became whipped almost, leaving to a light delicate exfoliation that felt comfortable on the skin. I wouldn’t say it’s as exfoliating at REN, but if you have more sensitive skin or need to exfoliate more regularly then definitely give this a try (especially as it’s a natural brand too!) Also for your mini needs is Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel Mask which smells divinely of orange (more a winter edge, not too fruity, but that might be the Christmas talking) however I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite of all the masks here – it did bring up one under skin bump but I didn’t notice a huge difference in softness or brightness, so wouldn’t pick it up full size sadly.

Something that is full sized is my final ‘2-in1’ fave – Pai Copaiba Deep Cleanse AHA Mask that not only exfoliates but clarifies pores too! Part of the Balance range, the mask is so gentle that I sometimes whack it on and forget about it until 40 minutes later when I’m feeling super fresh and it’s all soaked in (oops), but it’s not harsh enough to really strip at your skin so sensitive skin rejoice! I’d say you could safely use it 3 times a week and it wouldn’t be too stripping – just remember your SPF – as it’s very calming, and works well mixed in with more clarifying or hydrating masks also.

Despite the weather now turning to a battle for skin, you’ll have your skin buffed and covered to give you a lovely glow all the way into Christmas, and even more excuse to pamper yourself more as the evenings get darker earlier 😉 Go on, treat yo’self!

Lots of Love,
Lauren x
