It feels like summer is rolling round again – thank you little heatwave England – and as I’m typing this I’m packing up my carry on for a quick trip to Ibiza, which is proving somewhat harder than it sounds because I’m thinking I need at least 3 more tops to survive or feel safe.

Of course, with sun and summer comes suncream and my skin really hates thick products, chemicals and anything that’s going to block pores and cause irritation. Fab, but fear not fellow suncream worriers as I’ve narrowed down some of the best products I’ve found suits my skin and is also kind to skin!

The range I’ve been using most is Ultrasun which is vegan friendly (woohoo) and a non-greasy formula so no clogged pores in sight here. The family sized suncream was the perfect size for two over a week in the sun including reapplication, and the handy pump – which does lock also – is great to keep you topped up in the sun. The face cream has anti-aging properties and again is non-greasy, so you won’t feel all sticky and sweaty come 12am, is nice and light to re-apply and with both SPF 30 and suitable for sensitive skin, you’ll be feeling comfortable and protected all day long.

You’ve heard me rave enough about Kiehls Ultra Light Daily Defence Mineral Suncream for Acne but here’s the gist – a lightweight, grey-toned tinted suncream perfect for acne and sensitive skin. It adds coverage and protection at SPF 50 PA +++, but is sadly only available at duty free as far as I’ve seen in the UK *sobs* plus it’s a bit pricy but if your skin breaks out and you don’t want holiday hassle, this stuff rocks. Another new facial sun protector is Bare Republic Natural Suncream* – totally cruelty free, no parabens, no synthetic chemicals, SPF 30 and a lovely coconut vanilla scent too! It’s slightly thicker than Kiehl’s but not too heavy or greasy on the skin, plus the handy tub makes it great to carry on the go and keep your skin chemical free in the UVA/UVB rays.

Finally is a new in sun cream from Green People with their Scent Free Sun Lotion SPF 30*; again it’s non-greasy and non-irritating which is a huge plus, and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin and quite hydrating whilst protecting against harmful rays. It’s water repellant yet won’t clog pores so bye-bye heat rash and rich in natural antioxidants. Phew, what a good mix of goodness!

Now all I need to do is decide which one I’m packing for my holidays – but what’s your favourite suncream and have you tried any of these brands? Here’s to more sunny days…

Lots of Love,
Lauren x
