If there’s one thing I go on too much about, it’s Korean beauty; there’s always a conversation to weave it into, another Youtube video to feature it in, even my friends and family are getting into it because I’m always talking about the brands.
In light of Saturday’s video, I thought I’d give you a more in-depth catchup of how I’ve been getting along with some of the products I picked up a few months ago, and which ones you need to import right now…
Korean skincare is hella’good, it’s honestly surprised and surpassed all expectations, and despite worries that the traditional layering process can overwhelm your skin, each product is light and absorbent enough to feel like a dream on your skin. Essences have made a big difference in my skin, with Missha Time Revolution Essence really adding hydration since my skin became drier from the hard water; essences may seem like a weird addition but they honestly bridge the gap between your toner and serum, and make your skin feel smoother and softer than before.
Another hydrating but also renewing product I love is the Missha Time Revolution Ampoule which is a lot lighter than an oil but sinks in and provides enough hydration to make your skin feel nourished enough without leaving excess product on the surface. I use this in the morning and it works so well under my base, plus you get loads of product for the money – win win right?
Korea is also hailed for it’s range of sheet masks, and if this is just the first wave of Korean beauty in the UK then we are all blessed – sheet masks are a fab way to relax, treating your skin to something good without getting product everywhere and really uplifting your complexion. I personally get two uses out of my Innisfree Sheet Masks due to the amount of product soaked into each mask, made up of cruelty free and natural ingredients that do everything from brightening, collagen production and calming redness. Perfect for in the bath or during some relaxing meditation – now you’re feeling zen, I’m feeling it too 😉
Not pictured but worthy of a shoutout, the Laniege Firming Sleeping Pack – oh my word it really does something. The formula of this is designed to make your skin ‘bounce back’ and in the tub itself it’s proven to reshape and firm up in a matter of seconds, so any puffy, sallow or just generally blah areas of skin are revitalised overnight. Break it down, slap it on whilst you sleep and the next day you’ll look plumper, refined and just generally more…ahhh.
For makeup, I can’t recommend Innisfree No-Sebum Blur Primer and Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur which really does give you smooth, photoshopped skin (but more on that another time…) but I will say is that no primer I’ve ever tried before gives me results like these – hydrated, matte, even skin, what more could you want?
Finally, I am head over heels for Korean BB and CC Creams – they do everything you want in a base plus more, this is what I’m talking about! My two go-to products have been Holika Holika Aqua Petite BB Cream (a quick key detail review here) and the Laneige Matte BB Cushion which is definitely a ‘your skin but better’ formula, I am in love with the finish and never want to wear anything else. Now that’s saying something…
Overall, Korean beauty brands have got it down and if you haven’t tried or heard about the brands before, get researching or let me know what you want to hear more of in the comments below because seriously, another haul is due, there’s so much to try! Somebody try stop me, I dare you.
Have you tried Korean beauty before? Do you want more reviews and features on Korean beauty products? What do you love the sound of from this round up?
Lots of Love,
