Man oh man, both you and I are in for a right treat with this new batch of Korean beauty. There’s so much I know to expect when I research and try out new products from Asian, but sometimes a new thing comes along and just knocks you back thinking ‘WHAT?!’ and that it’s definitely going to take you out of your comfort zone (more on that later…)

I for one think Korean and Asian beauty is going to start making waves this next year – as I’ve said before, Vogue has picked up on it, some more mainstream brands are available via Sephora – so it’s been fab to get in contact with companies who want to spread the word more about their really incredible products.

Beauteque is such one, an online store based in America and run by Elina who is 17 – yes, 17 and she is doing more than me in terms of business, what a gal – due to the fact she had bad acne (I hear you sister, loud and clear!). Over the last few years, her team have made access to Asian and Korean beauty products easier, providing worldwide shipping to us mere English folk, and have two seriously amazing subscription packs that is the perfect introduction to the practise of Korean beauty.

Firstly is the BB Bag*, which contains 6-8 full sized products from popular brands across skincare and makeup. Like every other subscription box, it features popular and emerging brands but what you get is truly spectacular; for January, the bag had a Winter Wonderland theme to brighten up the colder days, and each product really made me smile – a too cute Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Sleek Mist to control sebum through a makeup day, A’Pieu Colour Longwear Shadow Stick in a really bronze, rose-gold shade that is meant to be smudge and waterproof (win), Eye Brow Clip to tame my brows (Asian tweezers and curlers are highly rated), By Flower Lip Scrub which honestly did remove all all the dead skin on my chapped lips in seconds – also smells like Papaya, amazing; a Scinic All Day Fine Pore Toner which had the words ‘no’ and ‘kill’ on the packaging so I’m guessing bye bye blackheads….finally, we have the interesting product – Ladykin Affinitic Snail Cream Minis. I know snail cream is really big in Korea, it has hugely nourishing properties that restore elasticity and prevent wrinkles, but snail. It’s snail. I’ve tried it on my hand and it felt amazing so…stay updated for the putting it on my face situation.

The second subscription pack is the Mask Maven*, which you guessed it, contains 9-11 masks for face, hands or hair you could want in the world (or for the month, if you are me). January was based on Natural Beauty and feeling refreshed, so nearly every mask has hydrating properties; there’s the Baviphat Juicy Mask in Strawberry which helps to control oil production, and Green Tea which soothes and increases elasticity, Scinic My Juicy Bottle Firming Mask that does what it says on the tin, Hanaka Camellia and Hyaluronic Acid Mask for smoother, hydrated skin and Marine Mud and Seaweed Mask which contains exfoliates to allow deeper hydration penetration (what a rhyme), Freeset Donkey Milk Skin Gel Mask Pack – Aqua because that along with Vitamins A-E work to slow down ageing, the Tony Moly Pureness 100 Hyaluronic Acid Mask that also provides balanced and refreshed hydration, and finally two very interesting masks – firstly, the SNP Animal Otter Aqua Mask which contains coconut water and oil for hydration but has an otter face printed on the mask (genius, I want it on my face all day and forever) and finally the Mediheal Mogongtox Soda Bubble Sheet Mask that rmeoves impurities deep in the more and ‘bubbles up’ once it’s completed the task. If it’s anything like the last bubble mask I used I’m going to be saying ‘ohmygod’ a lot…

TLDR? Basically, I’m in Korean beauty and mask heaven and currently trying each product and mask out when the opportunity arrises, but this is just the lowdown of one awesome brand spreading accessibility to Asian beauty unlike ever before. Expect more singular and comparative reviews over the next few weeks, especially with the snail cream, because I’m still psyching myself up on that one…however as a little treat you can get 10% off your first subscription service with the code BRITTONLOVES (prices down below so you can pick the best bargain!)

Subscription options: BB Bag – $24 month to month or per month for 3 months prepaid, $23 prepaid per month for 6 months, $22 prepaid per month for 12 months (exc. shipping) | Mask Maven – $15 for month to month, $15 for 3 months prepaid (each month), $14 for 6 months prepaid (each month), $13 for 12 months prepaid (each month) (exc shipping cost) – You are also billed the same date each month subscribed!

But what about you – have you been intrigued my Korean beauty? Would you sign up for a Beauteque subscription box? Should I get over myself and put the snail cream on my face?

Lots of Love,
Lauren x
