Remember when I posted that really monochrome photo for a Positivity Post a few weeks ago? Well here’s another one, as it seems I’m becoming more accustomed to the simple styling of black, white and silver, but this cause for black is much more exciting as November marks the infamous American tradition making waves with various brands in the UK – Black Friday. Yes the one where people fight over TVs, blenders and even tights – however if it’s the tights I’m about to mention then I certainly would put up a fair fight myself…

This year Debenhams have a huge range of products from beauty to fashion, even homeware to electricals with amazing Black Friday deals that can score you a few early Christmas presents for loved ones if you’re on a budget, or even a little treat for yourself (because hey, we all deserve a treat now and again!) To celebrate the run-up to Black Friday on the 27th November, Debenhams asked me to pick a few of my favourite black-themed items to get in the spirit of shopping and even discover a few new firm favourites…

Firstly is
Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara*
, of which I’ve tried before and have two mini samples of and, I have to admit, it’s up there with Maybelline (in fact it may rival it slightly due to packaging and the more natural ingredients) but the formula is the blackest of black, gives length, volume and definition, and the wand gustiest stuck right into each lash so the product hugs and lifts each strand perfectly. Add it to your wishlist, pronto.

One of my biggest enablers is Anna as she has a lot of the same makeup and skincare musts as me, and nearly everything she tries works for me (even brushes) so I had to pick up a
MAC 217 Brush
because 1) Anna uses it and 2) I only have one decent blending brush and sometimes purple and gold aren’t meant to be mixed together. The shade is fab for both application and applying product evenly, and you can’t beat a MAC brush can you? You always need more.

Finally, a bit of a granny but a winning purchase –
Debenhams Black Opaque Fleece Lined Thermal Tights*
. You heard, fleece lined AND thermal; oh my, my toes, thighs and tummy have never been so warm and they’re super cosy too. Not your traditional thick 100 Denier, these feel substantial enough for winter without bulking your outfit out too much plus WARM – what more could you want for £10?

I’m definitely curating a long Black Friday list of products and homewares I want to add to my collection – maybe a new bottle of Black Orchid? It only seems fitting – but I’d love to know what your favourite black themed items are, and what you hope you can pick up in the Black Friday deals – do Mac computers go on sale? Blenders? Maybe I’ll get a new hoover….okay now my list has tripled….

Will you be attempting the Black Friday deals this year? What have you spied on Debenhams recently? Have you tried any of these products?

Lots of Love,

Lauren x
