It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned Paris but I’ve wrapped up the last of my photos to share with you – my last full day was grey and dreary, but if anything Paris is just as beautiful in the rain. I had a free day to myself so decided to scour our districts I’d never been to before and hunt down Merci, a shop I’d seen on Rosie’s blog with dreamy home interiors and stationery – isn’t that just the dream combo?
First stop, Marais…
I adore architecture, in fact my dream is to travel across Europe and America just capturing the variety of culture and architecture, and Paris certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to beautiful buildings. From the graffiti to the beige paintwork, hidden streets and little details on the blinds, it simply spoils you.
After a lot of time wondering down the winding streets, I finally made it to Merci, and spent a good few hours marvelling over paper and furniture; isn’t that just typical? Open brick contrasted against steel and painted white walls, Merci is just gorgeous and a Pinterest dream – there’s also three places to eat within the shop which is just the icing on the cake really….
Marais reminds me of Covent Garden, with all the key beauty brands and mix of fashion and interiors, it makes you feel at home whilst being somewhere completely new. I dipped in and out of a few stores (including the Sandro outlet, oh the clothes, I die) before hunting down some food.
The weather didn’t really improve, in fact it got worse, which made for a very interesting trip up the Eiffel Tower that evening. The gloomy landscape however was beautiful to photograph, the rolling clouds of grey against the Parisian streets is just beautiful – but only in hindsight, not when you’re hungry and have wet feet. But then, I guess that means I’ll have to visit again soon…
