Now that we’re officially in the grips of Autumn, I’m so excited to start decorating the house in rich tones and textures to reflect the season. Admittedly, Christmas is my favourite season so don’t blame me if I bypass Halloween and start to hang up baubles in waves of festive excitement, however I was doing a scour of Homesense – which I haven’t been to in weeks, absolutely crazy for me – and everything autumn/winter was on display; tumblers, candles, ornaments, stationery – basically, the dream.

Even with a mainly blue-white-silver theme going on in my room, I’ve found space for some more autumnal pieces that help transition into that cosy ‘wrapped up in blankets’ feeling we all look forward to. Grab your purse, your cosy socks, and prepare yourself for some serious home inspiration…

The easiest way to update your surroundings is with smells, and yep you guessed it, I’ve been buying more candles. Cinnamon, pumpkin spice, clove, anything warm and earthy really gets me going and feel so excited about the new season. You’re always guaranteed to find something unique in Homesense, and the Fresh Oven Cinnamon Crumble Candle* is incredible – a white clay loaf tray housing the most seasonally appropriate candle, it really is good enough to eat. I’m also too scared to burn it because HOW CUTE IS THE BOW AND DETAILING?!

I’ve not really got caught up in the copper or rose gold trend, purely because my aesthetic is blue and white and do you know how hard it is to maintain an aesthetic? Very, however when my eyes spotted the iridescent Rose Gold Copper Pot* above I knew it would fabulous for my little autumnal corner. Whether you’re looking to house your pens in something prettier or have some dried leaves and flowers to display, this is definitely a cute ornament to have on display all autumn/winter (plus, it looks awesome in a flatlay, amiright?)

It’s safe to say I have a thing for pots and tumblers as well as candles, and I knew my makeup brushes would look so darn cute in this Gold Detailed Glass Pot* – currently they’re housed in a not-so-seasonal coral and blue pot so any excuse to buy more jars and pots is good enough for me 😉 In the end I picked up too because I have symmetry issues but they are fabulous anywhere in the house of brushes, flowers or just to on their own add atmosphere to a shelf when decorating for a new season.

I’m always so impressed with the extensive range of pieces in Homesense – I did have to put back at least 20 candles because I already have enough but the cinnamon smells are calling me – and as their autumn/winter range is starting out in full force now, I highly recommend you rush to your local store to scour out a bargain that is unique yet high quality in design, and make your house feel even more like a cosy home this year. I’ll see you in the candle aisle…

Have you started decorating for Autumn? Will you be making a trip to Homesense? What is your favourite thing about Autumn?

Lots of Love,

Lauren x
