A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of hot-footing it down to London for the Boots #PetalDrop event after winning a contest through Em on her blog. Part of the prize was an overnight stay at The Arch Hotel in Marble Arch (literally round the corner from the tube which was a god send as I was lugging two huge bags filled with camera equipment – RIP muscles).
I don’t get many chances to stay overnight on my trips down so it was lovely to be able to flop into bed at a decent hour (note, if you watch my vlog, you’ll know I went to bed at 10:50pm which is super late for someone who goes to bed at 9pm) which totally beats a late night coach home and a grumpy over-tired Lauren.
But I digress as this is post really is about the wonderful 24 hours I had at The Arch, and I can hands down say this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Upon arrival I was greeted with very hospitable staff who made sure I was comfortable and hydrated with the most amazing mint and honey water – I need to start making my own at home, it’s to die for. Even though I had to wait for my room to be ready, I was more than happy to be sitting down in a comfy chair to rest my legs and even more thrilled to discover I’d been upgraded to an Executive Suite – it took a lot of self control not to squeal, anything that means a bigger bed is fine by me.
From check in to being shown my suite, the staff were amazing – I could not be more impressed with the service, and everything about the hotel was explained in great detail that I was able to immediately crash on the bed after a long trip fully relaxed.
As standard for all the rooms, there is a wonderful bright bathroom stocked with Malin+Goetz products (my personal favourites are the Vitamin B+ Body Moisturiser and Rum Body Wash, such divine scents and all natural too!) free Wi-Fi – a must – and a lovely range of Nespresso coffee and Jing teas. As I stayed in an Executive room, I was delighted to find I would be snuggled into a either a King or Queen sized bed (anything is better than a single, let me tell you now) and also the space of the room was more than comfortable; the bedroom had room for you to relax, curl up in a chair by the windows and watch the sun set, enjoy the complimentary Sky TV, sit at the desk and, or just simply marvel at the incredible black marble bathroom…
Bathrooms are always my favourite part of a hotel, and I’ve been known to get very picky about bathrooms in general so I was more than impressed with the quality of the bathrooms at The Arch – lovely black marble tops, a rainfall shower over the bath which also had a built-in TV (ultimate relaxation) and a great big mirror perfect for filming all my cutaways. As I said, Malin+Goetz products are featured in every room and they all smelt incredible, including the Rum Hand Soap.
Another thing I’m sure you’ll have all picked up on now is that food is a big thing for me, so being welcomed to artisan Macarons (I had a bite just to make sure they were okay, they were more than okay, but a bite was enough for me!) and the range of breakfast choices caused me to debate heavily with myself whether I wanted porridge or a vegetarian Full English – obviously I went for porridge come on, this is me. You don’t just get porridge however when you order, you also get a a wide variety of pastries, yogurts, fresh juice and hot beverages on your tray – I opted for breakfast in bed, it’s the ultimate relaxation to stay in your dressing gown and enjoy the busy London mornings out the window whilst you eat to your heart’s content.
All in all, my time at The Arch was superb and I would stay here again in an instant – it’s so close to the tube and Hyde Park so you can either walk around the parks in the morning or even walk into Oxford Street without being too far from home to drop your bags off. A superb central location, with even more amazing and accommodating staff, and bedrooms to soundly sleep in all night long. London, you’re a beauty.
Have you stayed at The Arch London before? What do you love most about hotels? Are you as excited about bathrooms as I am?
Lots of Love,
This trip was provided for by Boots and all amenities were complimentary, however my views on bathrooms and total luxury are 100% honest.
