I love Spring; for me Spring brings memories of sunshine, flowers and the chance to dabble in going outside minus a big coat (and then having chilly legs, as always). Spring also means many parties, so out comes the party wear, the plates and bowls, cake stands and more, but this year things were feeling a bit lacklustre until luckily Homesense contacted me – my second home, I practically live in the Cheltenham and Gloucester stores trying to find candles and homeware – asking if I wanted to spruce up my table for Easter – well I could hardly refuse my fave store in the world could I?!

Homesense always have amazing deals on everything from furniture and candles, to food and frying pans, and I’m always snagging a deal as stock is up to 60% off RRP (this is why I have a candle problem), and their new Easter range is nothing short of Spring perfection – pastel prints, cute intricate designs, hand-painted crockery, and some totally perfect party wear which made all our food look even more delicious (and all under £15!).

I love to have one or two pieces of crockery the same, and then contrast it with some other pieces and style for a really unique look on the table; as much as I love symmetry, I would rather have a mismatched yet slightly co-ordinated table, so there was a lot of Spring colours for our party. Our chocolate cake bought the party mood in with this fun Bunting Flag Print Plate*, and being plastic it was easy to clean up after we’d cut the slices. Speaking of plastic, the Faux China Bowls* with blue detailing are actually such material, which is brilliant as they look so delicate but can be popped in the dishwasher or knocked about a bit without becoming broken – perfect picnic or party crockery that looks nice but is certainly sturdy and great for showing off our pastry parcels!

It’s important to pick out colour themes, which was great as I fell head over heels for the Yellow Hand Dipped and Painted Serving Bowl*, a colour I don’t usually go for but against our fresh daffodils it was a perfect dipping bowl for our houmous, and is also great for those little table snacks you want for after-party nibbles or a bowl of ice-cream (a Spring-time must!)

You can never have too many glasses, especially at a party where everyone loses theirs at some point. In the need for some nicer designs, these Pink and Clear Embossed Tumblers were a perfect pick, especially since they hold a big drink and look pretty on the table – so pretty in fact we went and bought the rest in blue! But as nice as it is to have a big drink, I could not resist these Mini Flower Print Glasses* which double up as a cute dinky holder for carrots or breadsticks, plus they really bring out the Spring and Easter colours of the table with various flowers in primary shades printed around the outside of the glass – a gorgeous simple touch to any Spring table and a quick way to add some colour.

Homesense really has a wide range of party table features, from disposable pieces such as this Pink Cupcake Cake Stand which can be folded and stored away easily after a spot of Easter Afternoon Tea, to big expensive designs made in Italy and Spain including our Large White Embossed Serving Dish which holds my massive servings of quinoa salad – you’ve got to make enough leftovers for the following days right?

If you’re looking for unique finds, one-off designs and a bargain price, you cannot beat Homesense for truly long-lasting quality products. Now that I’m at the age where kitchenware and crockery is as exciting as winning £500, I know I’ll always find something special for my growing collection of plates and pans for my future home in store. This Easter, hop  into your cars and get scouring your local Homesense store, you may find something uniquely special to spring  into your baskets…

Do you shop at Homesense? Are you a fan of bargain homewares? Are you planning anything for Easter?

Lots of Love,

Lauren x
