| beauty review : the dark horse of primers ? |
Hellooo everyone !
Have you ever tried a primer and thought ‘yes, this is the one’ ? I’ve only had one experience of that with The Body Shop Matte Primer, until now of course with the miraculous new introduction to my make-up routine; Pixi By Petra Flawless and Poreless Primer*.
There are many primers out there for so many needs, and to be honest I rarely prime I just slap on some SPF and start my base. I’d noticed that when using my old faithful MAC Studio Fix Fluid it was starting to cling to dry patches or uneven bits, looking cakey and gross. Since using this my routine however I’ve noticed a huge difference as to how my foundation stays.
The Poreless and Flawless primer is marketed as a ‘pore minimising, shine free, hydrating, oil free, hypoallergenic’ product for all skin types, and I have to say I agree. I have sensitive combination skin so I like to stick to brands I trust work, and this has caused me no trouble at all. Simply smoothed on all over the face it really does make pores look visibly smaller, and my foundation of all types glides beautifully across.
In terms of longevity, my face seems to stay on well anyway and this keeps it on during the day too so that’s a bonus ! When you first squeeze it out, the colour looks like a pinky shade but do not fear as it’s completely translucent so everyone can give it a go.
Ingredients wise, there’s a lot included that are beneficial to the skin – Willow Bark to combat natural shine, Salicylic Acid to clear and unblock pores, Shea Butter to nourish, Titanium Dioxide to protect the skin’s surface, and Enantia Chlorantha which is a medicinal and anti-viral product – so there’s a lot going on to protect your make-up and help your skin hooray !
My final view ? This is one primer you need to try. You can buy Pixi Flawless and Poreless here for £20.50, which doesn’t make it one of the cheapest primers but it does the job good and proper. I use it every time I wear makeup and it’s definitely made my face look better.
What is your favourite primer ? Will you be trying out Pixi By Petra ?
Lots of Love,
