Helloooo everyone !
Now when I’m on the hunt for a product that will make my routine or life easier, I will hunt. I want the best price for the best result and to fall in love with it so that I can rave about it. This review is just that.
The new addition to my brow life is the Barry M Shape & Define Brow Kit, which is a very major step-down in size from my massive eye-shadow palette – can’t begin to explain how happy I am about this ! – but it’s a bit step up in the look of my brows – now that’s something I can begin to explain how happy I am.
The Barry M Brow Kit comes in one shade – so if you have blonde or fair eye-brows this unfortunately isn’t for you. There is a light golden brown wax which is what you use first to shape and outline the brow shape, and it really does keep it’s shape ! Next, you brush through the dark powder to fill in your brows and help set the wax. The wax does not dry hard, crusty or waxy like, it simply stays put in it’s styled shape all day whilst keeping your brows looking fuller and more natural throughout the wear. The last powder is for under the brow as a highlight which I don’t personally use, however if my white and cream shades ever fail me I’ll be sure to start experimenting with this later.
The kit comes with tweezers and a double-ended applicator, the former I don’t use as I have a good pair of tweezers and I also have a good long-handled slanted head brush to apply the wax. I do use the more rounded end to apply the dark powder and the slanted edge for the ends of my brows to elongate them and they work very well and feel soft to use without holding too much product in the brush.
All in all, this is a really handy and well worth the purchase brow kit. Wax and gel formulas are very popular right now, with Revlon’s Brow Fantasy Pencil + Gel making waves as with many other high-end brow kits but for £5.99 you can’t go wrong with this little piece of magic. Easy for travel, free applicators and a little mirror – it’s a handbag and carry-on essential for all us dark-browed gals.
Also whilst shopping for this, I picked up some more tools and products to make my routine just a smidge better. First was the Real Techniques Shading Brush which I’ve been using for blending in my concealer – works a treat and looks amazing. Lastly, as I am pale, my bronzer sometimes looks too much like a block of brown on my face when contouring so a hunt was on for a darker but natural skin shade (reasonably priced) to contour my cheekbones. I ended up with the Rimmel Match Perfection Powder in 103 True Ivory which is, despite it’s ivory claim, darker than my skintone. Perfect for subtle contouring, matte colour, and allows my bronzer to do it’s job of making me look tanned.
What are your recent haul picks ? Any beauty products you’d recommend ?
Lots of Love,
