| Key pieces for the Spring/Summer season |
Helloooo everyone !
Well the end of this week has been glorious hasn’t it ! It’s set to hit 21c here in England today so I’ll be cracking out the shorts and and sandals to go sit out sit outside and soak up some Vitamin D.
As it’s clear spring is here and summer right on its heels, I wanted to share my key pieces for a Spring/Summer transitional wardrobe and what is essential to my daily wear.
The Floral Dress – a true symbol of spring, the print helps to brighten up the day and can be perfectly matched with fresh red or orange lipstick and nail shades. Pair with wedges for a chic city look or some high-tops for a casual stroll. The floaty material is perfect to keep the body cool, and the elastic waist creates a perfect skater girly shape (whilst disguising the summer food-baby !) (Topshop, past season simmilar here 1 2)
The Lightweight Trousers – There are some days when the breeze makes our legs a little chilly, or we don’t feel like flashing the flesh, so a pair of lightweight trousers is the perfect option. Worn with crop tops or a tucked in slouchy tee, the trousers are breathable, fun and a perfect thing to wear on a day of travelling or sitting in parks. Choose from linen straight legs to cotton harem pants. (Monki, current season Nadia Trousers)
The ‘Breton’ Striped Top – A classic, Parisian style that saves any outfit indecision. It goes with denim shorts, skirts, black, white, colour – you name it, it does it. This top is lightweight and with a 3/4 cut is just enough coverage to go with your short-shorts or high-waisted Levi’s, and will make you traveller-chic ready in no time. (H&M, last season similar here 1 2)
The Pastel Jumper – Pastels are a huge trend this season, and there are so many ways to incorporate the trend. For the days where the breeze be blowin’, or you’re camping out on the beach/garden/woods, a pastel jumper is a fab way to work the trend whilst keeping your little armies warm ! (H&M, last season see similar here)
The Denim Skirt – Spring and summer tends to bring out the light denim jackets to cover-up with, and denim shorts to finally let those legs get some colour. As much as I love my Levi’s, I love to throw on a denim skirt to add a girly edge to my relaxed attire. This one in particular has a nice full skirt to it, fitting my curves nicely, and with the elasticated waist is another food baby saviour 😉 Whether you’re a straight cut, flute or full skirt-lover, denim will suit your every need. I hope this has given you some inspiration, and I’m off to prepare for a day in the sun now ! Now where is my dress….
What are you wearing this Spring / Summer ?
Don’t forget to nominate me for the Cosmo Awards !
Lots of Love,
