THINGS FOR THE WEEKEND

Friday, March 10, 2017

I was thinking about whether to post or not today, but as I was getting ready for the Blogosphere party last night I had a little think about what Friday means to me - the wind-down, catching up with what I've missed during the week, and picking out some reminders for the upcoming week (to mull over whilst watching some Netflix and eating vanilla soy ice-cream ;) )

Book quotes to remember

• 'Cut off the stream of crap - Be more concious of the information you absorb. What blogs do you read? What shows do you watch? What books do you read?...Whose opinion do you ask? What do you focus on in your day-to-day life? Are you staring at a car accident or are you gathering information that will allow you to contribute to positive change? Wallowing in the pain and suffering isn't going to help anyone, yourself included...if you want to help the world and yourself, keep your frequency high and do your work from a place of power and joy.' - Jen Sincero, You Are A Badass

• 'Reject projects if there is nothing you can learn from them and if they do not correspond to your overriding vision. Projects that you can learn from but do not correspond to your vision are interesting but will not help you achieve your objective. Try to change the project so it serves your vision.  If a project corresponds to your vision, but you are learning nothing new, look for somebody else to do it. If you are learning something and achieving your vision, you have hit the jackpot!' - The Decision Book

Blog posts to get you thinking

TV shows to watch

The OA - I'll admit this sci-fi/spiritual series can be a bit slow in places, mainly because there is so much story trying to be told in one hour episodes, but I wholeheartedly believe you should watch this for the final scene between 6 of the main characters; it's beautifully powerful and makes it a great bridge and cliffhanger for season 2.

Broadchruch - David Tennant is back on my screen and I'm hella happy. The storyline may be sensitive, but it's the same quality of series 1 again with great suspense. If you haven't watched the last two series, where the heck have you been?!

Songs I've been listening to

Something Just Like This - Chainsmokers ft Coldplay • Green Light - Lorde • Love - Lana Del Rey • Divide - Ed Sheeran

Here's to a Happy Friday, and enjoy that relaxing weekend folks!
