It's that time again - where I've accumulated a lot of beauty products and given them a good ol'test to see what's worth the hype, has been pretty interesting and wrapped it all up in a new Currently Testing post. Ahh, because you can never have too much beauty...
Didn't I tell you I'd be buying more Mario Badescu? When picking up backups of their Buffering Lotion, I spotted the Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater and I haven't regretted it since; it smells fresh and heavenly on the skin, cools and calms whilst hydrating, plus it looks pretty too (along with the price tag) so you can't complain. Pops in the bag for Mexico asap...
I've had this Inika Mineral Blusher Puff Pot* in Pink Pinch lingering in the 'to try' drawer for a while, and with the spring weather here I thought it was time to try something a little bit more pink and natural on the cheeks. Now I have to say the little poof on top is a blessing, it's perfect for travel and compacts 2-in-1 and is so easy to distribute colour across the cheek. The pink is a lovely flush, and the fact it's cruelty-free/vegan friendly makes it even better - it's happened, I've converted back to blush again.
A new post-skincare pre-makeup base I've been really loving is the Green People Beauty Boost Skin Restore* which only launched the end of last month (but yay for testing beforehand). It's designed to reduce redness and boost collagen, refreshing the complexion when it appears dull. I've been using it personally under or instead of a primer, as it has enough hydration to allow my makeup to sit evenly and longer, plus redness does appear reduced which makes the use of concealer a dab lighter. It has a very natural, earthly scent but feels lovely on the skin and helped make an improvement to my skin on drier days! (P.S. If you use the code BRITTONLOVES on any Green People purchase you get 15% off - woohoo!)
You can never have enough lip products (or combo products at that) and I've been loving this Tata Harper Voluminous Lip and Cheek Tint* in Very Popular so much so it's the only thing I've been using with lip liner for nearly a month - but more on that in a few weeks ;) The balm melts just enough to apply easily on the lips, has great pigmentation and doesn't cling to flakey areas either. Reapplication is required after eating but it is a balm after all so no biggy - one niggle is that you have to dip your finger in so not totally hygienic but if you're a frequent over-handwasher like myself, you'll be fine! Gorgeous colour and a good saviour when you need a pop of summin'.
Finally I've been trying out a new range called Dames and Dimes, a natural handmade skincare company with some the cutest packaging and amazing smells. It's all very 50's meets fantasy packaging but I think it's spot on, and what's inside counts just as much - the Lime Sea Salt Scrub* smells just like Starburst and really sloughs off dead skin, and after much neglect over the years my feet have been lavishly treated by The Foot Doctor Cream* which has lovely scents of tea tree and menthol to give them a zing. If you're all about your natural and home-grown beauty, give this brand a go!
Have you tried anything new recently? What is your current skincare or makeup love? Will you be trying any of these products?
Lots of Love,
