Boxes always mean good things, and a recently delivery bought me two good things in the form of March Beauty boxes; packed with new products to try from various brands, both Look Fantastic* and Love Me Beauty* have a little something for everyone with the latest offering, so I'm going to break down some the good and the okay parts of both and see what really is worth testing...
Firstly Look Fantastic, possibly one of the most popular boxes - the packaging is super fun and you always need a spare box. Before I'd even opened the box I was surprised to find a copy of Elle Magazine and a really detailed booklet of the products and some fashion week beauty rundowns - a very nice touch indeed, and feels like you're getting more for your money in terms of care.
The boxes are always well packaged, and there was 6 products to test in total (2 full sized, the rest minis) which runs with the month's theme of 'Explorer' so perfect if you're hot-footing it abroad soon. After reading the booklet I assumed with the Codage products you got one of two items as I didn't get a serum in mine, but it goes into full detail about the brands, formulas and how they can help you on-the-go.
So what's in the box? There's a wide mix - Codage Masque Hydrant Moisturing Mask, Revlon Colourburst Lip Balm in 105 Demure, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water, Lottie London Angle Brush, and Nuxe Crème Prodigieuse. As you can see, they're all great for on-the-go travel and cover a lot of needs, and as per there are some I'll use more than others - due to my skin type I could possibly get away with Codage although I'll have to see how it suits spot-pone skin, and after some testing the First Aid Beauty cream has been fab at soothing my hands in the colder weather. Potentially, Caudalie's Micellar Water will be stocked in the 'mini' drawer for holidays so I don't have to decant my current water, and you can't go wrong with a spare angle brush!
However there are a few products that'll go unused - the Colourburst Balm is sheer and very sparkly, not my colour or finish so it'll be passed along, and the Nuxe cream isn't what my skin needs so this will also be re-homed, but hey, it's an extra gift to share with someone who needs it!
All in all, another good box from Look Fantastic with some fab extras, and I'm looking forward to next month already. (Look Fantastic Box retails from £11.25 upwards.)
Most beauty boxes are standard offerings in terms of products, but what I think gives Love Me Beauty the edge is their personalised approach; you can select what type of products you'd prefer in your box, skin needs and what you look for in your beauty - be it bigger hair, hydrated skin or just a little bit of summin'for the nails. March certainly didn't disappoint - Rodial Superfood Cleanser and Glam Balm Multi, Rodial Dragon Blood Hyaluronic Moisturiser, Nuxe Cleansing Gel, Malin + Goetz Clarifying Clay Mask, Cailyn Extreme Matte Tint and a Popband Tie for your barnet; a bloomin' fabulous range!
As I've tested Rodial's Superfood range in the past, I know it's a little rich on my skin so it'll be passed along to my Mum who adores the range, as will the Dragon's Blood Moisturiser; the Popband has already kept my hair pineapple out the way for a few days now and I've popped both the Nuxe and M+G products in my 'mini' drawer for further testing, but the real absolute winner here is Cailyn.
Liquid Lipsticks have been on my 'to try' list for ages, especially mauve/nude 90's shade because that's my thing, but the formula and application of this (not to mention the colour) is spot on. You can easily outline your lips, the colour packs an amazing punch and after leaving your lips apart to dry for about 30-40 seconds, you will have the most matte and long-lasting, waterproof lip ever. I've spent several days now fawning over the rest of the range so you know where my money is going... (Love Me Beauty retails for £10 per month.)
Personally, I love the minimal boxes and more personalised touch which does give Love Me Beauty the leverage for me, but both brands have a fab range of products and are a great way to discover something new every month.
So what do you think - Are you a fan of Beauty Boxes? Which set-up do you prefer? Have you tried any of these brands?
Lots of Love,
