| all the products I need when travelling about |

Hellooooo everyone !

Staying over at people's houses or hotels requires lotS of decisions, the most important being 'how do I get all my skincare in one bag ?!' Depending on where I'm off to, I can usually get away with taking less and compacting down the products I use, and I also get to try out some minis.

I haven't done a 'What's in my Bag ?' before, so I thought with it being summer now and a lot of you will be off around the world or on city-breaks I would do a What's in my Travel Bag to give you some more inspiration and ideas for what and how to pack.

Bag - Clarins

I have collected many sample over the years, and also many travel pots so downsizing isn't too hard. I would recommend going to your local Debenhams and asking for samples of certain products, or when you buy several items ask for extra things to try - sometimes you have to buy more to get more, but it can be worth the pennies.

Currently in my summer skincare bag is :
Ibuprofen - in case of sudden pains
Manual Toothbrush and Mini Toothpaste - sometimes you can get these in magazines, or your mini travel section at Boots
Triple-Stack Travel Pot - mine is filled with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (only enough to last the trip), Korres Vanilla+Plum Body Lotion, and my Clarins Vital Light Night Cream
Clarins Blue Orchid Face Oil - my new saviour product, it helps rehydrate the skin intensely and makes your skin feel so smooth
MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect with SPF 50 - a great suncare product, it primes and protects. I'm unsure whether it has UVA/UVB protection, but for milder climates it's a good choice
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ - I cannot live without it, it helps keep my blemishes at bay and heals old ones
Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser - the best morning scrub, it revitalises and reveals new fresh skin
Sanex Deoderant - self explanatory
Hydrocortisone Cream 1% - I have had some dry patches of skin and this helps remove the inflammation (I'm trying to stop using this as it thins the skin and isn't best long-term, but good for when it flares up suddenly)
Germolene - great to disinfect and heal spots, bites and any scratches or wounds
Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover - removes all traces of mascara and eye-shadow. If you find it too harsh, dilute with water or try the Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover
Clarins Hydraquench SPF 15 Cream - I have so many of these minis. They hydrate, protect and are suitable for all skin types and concerns, what's not to love ?
Clarins Eye Contour Gel - beats puffy eyes, cools and hydrates. My eyes are looking soooo much better !

Depending on whether I'm abroad, busy or going out, I don't wear a lot of make-up day to day. If I'm off out shopping I'll throw on a red lip and some mascara, or if I'm hanging out or at the beach it's free, bare skin 24/7.
Still I always pack some because you never know what occasion may arise and sometimes you want to feel pretty.

Currently in my summer make-up bag is :
Hair tie - always essential, keeps the hair away from the eyes for make-up and for general agro
Benefit Watts Up - a great golden highlighter to show off that bronzed tan
MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation in NC20 - lightweight and dewy, you will definitely glow wearing this. Add moisturiser for a tinted moisturiser effect.
Lip Pencils - a nude and a red are the most you'll need, great on their own or under your fave shade
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder in Medium/Dark - I don't bother so much with contouring abroad, and if I only want one defining product I take this ass I can amp up the glow plus use it lightly for the cheekbones.
Maybelline Mega Plush Volum'Express Mascara - lengthened and volumised lashes look great wiht a tan, you just somehow look more radiant !
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Incase you have blemishes you want to cover, or use as a highlight. Summer should really be declared the seaons of 'no spots plz'.
Travel Perfume - I don't have a little travel spray for perfumes, but I do have some samples (by some, I mean a lot). I tried this Thierry Mugler Angel mini and it's a nice scent in place of my regular when travelling light.
Barry M Brow Kit - Brows are essential, always.
Lipbalms and Lipsticks - key for hydration and a pop of colour, I take reds and bright shades with me such as MAC Russian Red and Morange, or nudes such as MAC Myth to layer over other shades.
Eyeshadow Palette - lugging the NAKED 1 is a challenge for short trips, so I take this mini MAC Pro Palette with my favourite brown shades as they suit every occasion and my skin tone perfectly. Contains Brule, Mulch, Courduroy, and Wedge.

I realise I sound like some sort of beauty-make up fiend, and I do love wearing it when I'm at home with all my products, but if I'm going to be by the pool or hanging out with people I know well enough all the time I generally wear less - if any - as I like both my skin to breathe, plus to make an even bigger impression on days/nights out when I do whack on some lippy. Always a confidence booster.

Have you tried any of these products ? Let me know what you pack in your travel bags

Lots of Love,
Lauren x
