BEAUTY : PINK + PINK

It's friday, friday, gotta get down on friday..
Hello everyone and it is friday !!
Hope you are having a lovely day so far and looking forward to your weekends.

Today is a Beauty post and it is taken from this season's official colour : PINK

I've had so much fun shooting this, and I wanted to give a 'Barbie' edge to the look. So typical. As I'm still building my skills, I took this as the perfect opportunity to work on my airbrushing which when I look at is still so weird ! Enjoy :)

I wanted to achieve a matte and smooth texture on my skin so that the colours would pop more. To do this I used:
Firstly using my fingers I worked Select Cover-Up over my skin to cover up blemishes and even out the redness. This shade is too pink for me but wow does it cover up ! a fantastic product.
Then with my MAC 167 brush I buffed and lightened my skin using the Studio Fix Fluid - matching my body now.

Then, the eyebrows. Now I like a strong eyebrow, but this was a new height (literally)
To achieve this gravity defying brow, I used an eyebrow brush to brush all the hairs up and out as far as they would go before filling with a dark flat brown eyeshadow. Using upward strokes helped build the height and filled in any spaces. To match some of the hair a bit more I added some black eyeshadow, and used my 17 Soft Mocha Eye Pen to define the shape and make them appear cartoon-like.
That's a lot of eyebrow attention I tell ya.

For the eyeshadow, I used a white eyeliner pencil as a base over my lid and under my eye so you could see the pink and then layered a baby pink colour from my M&S palette over the lid and in the under inner corners (similar would be Pink Venus or Pink Freeze from MAC, you can use this as a colour guide). For a darker 'smoke' I used a hot pink with a normal eyeshadow brush (similar colour here) in my crease and under my eye also.
For my eyelashes I simply curled and used one light sweep of Maybelline's One by One Volum' Express.

For my cheeks I practically layered on MAC Sunday Afternoon (limited edition and no longer available but similar here) across the upper apples of my cheeks. To contour and add depth I used Benefit Coralista, which also packs a lot of pink punch.

To make the lips as pink as marshmallows, I outlined my lips with the white pencil (which also highlights and makes the lips looks fuller) and filled in with a nude lip-pencil.
Firstly, I used MAC Sheen Supreme in Blossom Culture on a lip brush and lightly added a bright undertone before layering on MAC Snob - a nice creamy yet long-lasting ice pink tone.

So how do you accessorise your pink even more ?
Maybe pink nails ?

This has been a really fun opportunity to focus more on make-up and also in practicing my airbrush tools. I think some of them would look just as good un-airbrushed but it's been great to give it a go ! I am one more inclined to the natural look to be honest, so the rest of my beuaty shoots will be all Lauren
(scary)

I might post some extras tomorrow but I haven't decided yet, they will just be more photoshoot based and having fun with the pink make-up. A sneaky treat for you lovelies.
Usually I'm not really a pink person as I never thought it suited me however this make-up may have changed my mind...

I hope you enjoyed this look, and for all you girls who read I hope you start to rock the pink more !
Lots of Love,
Lauren x
